Bugs at Woodhorn Museum!

31947014_1858221560908311_6774412647094812672_o.jpg brings you an opportunity to get up-close and personal with some amazing animals of the insect, reptile and amphibian world!

See giant tarantulas, tree frogs, geckos, snakes and beetles. Try and spot the praying mantis and stick insects camouflaged amongst the leaves and guess the number of legs on a giant millipede.

Guy Tansley has been keeping and breeding exotic insects for over 30 years and brings his enthusiasm and knowledge of the subject to his displays. His travels include the rain forests of Borneo, South America, and West Africa to study the habits and habitats of insects and spiders. Having visited these rain forests he can tell you firsthand about the sights and sounds of these magnificent places and the amazing creatures that live there.

During the display you will be allowed to touch some of the animals. Being able to feel the skin of a lizard and the exoskeleton of an insect brings you closer to experiencing weird and wonderful animals in a whole new way!
