Carol Decker & T'Pau at Newcastle O2, Friday 24th May 2019

Carol Decker and the rest of T’Pau played a blinder on Friday night at the O2 Academy in Newcastle.  All the classic hits were there including Valentine, Secret Garden, Heart & Soul, and of course China in your Hand, which spent 5 weeks at number one, back in 1987.

The crowd had their singing voices on show, with Carol obviously pleased with the crowd interaction.  Recent song “Run” released in August 2018 was slipped into the set list for these latest gigs.  With promises of more new songs coming this year on an EP, at this stage only available on line.

Back at the start of May, during Carol’s interview with Alan from Koast Radio’s 80s Mix tape show, she mentioned the fact that even though the audiences love hearing the classics, the band enjoy playing the new tunes too.  Guitarist Ronnie Rogers had said to her during recent rehearsals “he would throw his toys out of the pram if they didn’t play some stuff from Pleasure & Pain album.”  If you’re wondering his toys are still firmly in the pram.

If you would like to see T’Pau, they are on the bill for Lets Rock the North East, at Herrington Park, Sunderland on Saturday 8th June 2019.
