MORE than £400 was raised at this year’s Blyth All Weather Lifeboat fundraising day.
The event was opened by former Newcastle United and England striker Malcolm Macdonald, a regular supporter of the lifeboat station.
Koast radio was also in attendance and there was a funfair, fire engines and more.
A total of £430 was raised on the day to help the fully independent, volunteer-run, publicly funded charity.
The event was led by fundraiser Michelle Urwin and head of operations Keri Merilo, who alongside mechanic Gary Carr has recently received a Jubilee medal from the Queen for more than five years’ service on the lifeboat.
The volunteer lifeboat is always on the lookout for new people, and anyone interested in joining as crew or a fundraiser is asked to call in at the station.
