Newbiggin goes Mad for “Seaside Summer Madness”

Newbiggin goes Mad for “Seaside Summer Madness”

Sunday 13th May saw Koast Radio host “Seaside Summer Madness”, a celebration of music and an opportunity to raise money for charity.

Director of Outside Broadcasts and Event, Garry Scurfield said, “Koast Radio 106.6fm are a community radio station run completely by volunteers, we depend upon funding and advertising to operate.

Our volunteers have worked really hard to make sure today was a success.
e must thank the Town Council, local businesses, the bike clubs, all those that came today and of course the bands.
We hope we have raised a good amount for Wansbeck Palliative Care and The Children’s Cancer ward at Newcastles RVI”.

Thanks to a grant from Northumberland County Council’s Community Fund Koast Radio will shortly have Studio 2 up and running as work nears completion.

Up until now training new presenters has only been possible live on air but with the fantastic new training studio budding presenters can now learn the ropes in the new studio to build their confidence before being thrust upon the listening public.

The studio will also double as an editing facility and will be equiped with state of the art DJ equipment to provide more flexibility over our show output.

The Studio can also be used as a back up facility if we need to take down the main studio for essential maintenance and improvement work.

If you’ve ever fancied being a radio presenter there’s no better time to join our growing team at Koast Radio.
